AN ACT
amending section 12-109, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to the supreme court.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Section 12-109, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
12-109. Rules of pleading, practice and procedure; adoption; electronic signature; distribution
A. The supreme court, by rules promulgated from time to time, shall regulate pleading, practice and procedure in judicial proceedings in all courts of the this state for the purpose of simplifying such to simplify pleading, practice and procedure and promoting promote speedy determination of litigation upon on its merits. The rules shall not abridge, enlarge or modify substantive rights of a litigant.
B. The court may allow documents that require a sworn written declaration, verification, certificate, statement, oath or affidavit to be signed with an electronic signature.
B. C. The supreme court shall print and distribute the rules to all members of the state bar and to all other persons who apply.
C. D. The rules shall not become effective until sixty days after distribution.
