AN ACT
amending title 12, chapter 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding article 12; relating to court security.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 12, chapter 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 12, to read:
ARTICLE 12. COURT SECURITY OFFICERS
12-299.10. Court security officers; certification
A. Each court may use certified court security officers to ensure the safe transaction of the business of the court. The supreme court shall certify court security officers.
B. A certified court security officer possesses and shall exercise all of the law enforcement powers of a peace officer in this state in the performance of the court security officer's duties.
C. A certified court security officer is not eligible for enrollment in the retirement plans established by title 38, chapter 5, article 4, 4.1, 4.2 or 6 due solely to employment as a certified court security officer.
