AN ACT
amending Title 15, chapter 3, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-348; relating to local governance of schools.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 3, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-348, to read:
15-348. Traditional tribal regalia; graduation ceremonies
A school district governing board or a charter school governing body may not prohibit a student who is a member of a federally recognized Indian TRIBE or who is eligible to be enrolled as a member of a federally RECOGNIZED Indian tribe from wearing traditional tribal regalia while participating in a graduation ceremony.
Sec. 2. Emergency
This act is an emergency measure that is necessary to preserve the public peace, health or safety and is operative immediately as provided by law.
