AN ACT
amending title 41, chapter 4, article 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑791.05; relating to the department of administration.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, chapter 4, article 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-791.05, to read:
41-791.05. Certain state properties; solar panel systems; preference
A. The department of administration may construct or install solar panel systems that are intended to connect to a utility system:
1. On the roof of the buildings that are under the jurisdiction of the department pursuant to section 41‑791, subsection B, paragraph 3.
2. In the parking lot area that is adjacent to and west of the state capitol executive tower of the state capitol building.
3. In the parking lot area of Wesley Bolin memorial plaza that is not under the jurisdiction of the president of the senate or the speaker of the house of representatives.
B. If the department uses a contractor to construct or install the solar panel system, the department shall grant a preference to a contractor that has its principal place of business in the United States. END_STATUTE
