AN ACT

 

Appropriating monies for economic development.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  In addition to any other appropriations and subject to applicable laws, the sums or sources of revenue set forth in this act are appropriated for the fiscal years indicated and only from the funding sources listed for the purposes and objects specified.  If monies from funding sources in this act are unavailable, no other funding source may be used.

Sec. 2.  ARIZONA COMMERCE AUTHORITY

                                                    2016-17

Angel investment recapitalization       $  20,000,000

Research and development tax

  credit recapitalization                   5,000,000

Total appropriation – Arizona

commerce authority                      $  25,000,000

Sec. 3.  OFFICE OF TOURISM

                                                    2016-17

Operating lump sum appropriation    $   2,000,000

Fund sources:

State general fund                  $   2,000,000

Sec. 4.  Appropriation; Arizona highway user revenue fund; distribution; fiscal year 2016-2017

A.  The sum of $30,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2016‑2017 to the Arizona highway user revenue fund established by section 28‑6533, Arizona Revised Statutes, for distribution by the state treasurer as follows:

1.  To the counties, 33.231 percent.

2.  To the incorporated cities and towns, 48.097 percent.

3.  To incorporated cities with a population of three hundred thousand or more persons, 5.247 percent.

4.  To counties with a population of more than eight hundred thousand persons, 13.425 percent.

B.  The distributions made pursuant to subsection A, paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of this section must be made as prescribed in section 28‑6540, Arizona Revised Statutes.  The distribution made pursuant to subsection A, paragraph 4 of this section must be made as prescribed in section 28‑6538, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes.

C.  The amount appropriated in this section may be used only for the direct costs of constructing, reconstructing, maintaining or repairing public highways, streets or bridges and direct costs of rights‑of‑way acquisitions and expenses related thereto.

Sec. 5.  Department of transportation; state route 189; appropriation; fiscal year 2016-2017

The sum of $30,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2016-2017 to the department of transportation for the purpose of accelerating construction of improvements to state route 189 between the Mariposa port of entry and Interstate 19.
