AN ACT

 

prescribing a reduction in school district nonclassroom expenses in certain fiscal years.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  School districts; nonclassroom expenses; reduction and use in fiscal years 2015-2016 through 2019‑2020; definition

A.  Notwithstanding any other law, beginning in fiscal year 2015‑2016 and continuing in each fiscal year through fiscal year 2019‑2020, each school district shall decrease by two percent the amount of monies that the school district spent during the previous fiscal year on nonclassroom expenses and use those monies previously spent on nonclassroom expenses to increase classroom spending by a corresponding amount.

B.  For the purposes of this section, "nonclassroom expenses" means any spending by a school district that is not classified by the auditor general as dollars spent in the classroom pursuant to section 41‑1279.03, Arizona Revised Statutes.
