Amending Title 9, chapter 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding article 6; relating to peace officers.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 9, chapter 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 6, to read:

ARTICLE 6.  GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

START_STATUTE9-1001.  Peace officers; minimum staffing requirement

A city or town that has a population of five hundred thousand or more persons shall provide a minimum of two and one‑half peace officers for every one thousand persons. END_STATUTE
