AN ACT

 

appropriating monies to the department of public safety.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Appropriation; department of public safety; Navajo Nation judicial public safety master plan; exemption

A.  The sum of $420,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2021-2022 to the department of public safety to distribute to the Navajo Nation to update its judicial public safety master plan developed by the Navajo Nation division of public safety, including:

1.  Assessing existing facilities.

2.  Implementing a component to address current and future plans for the Navajo Nation to determine facility needs, assess facility risk and meet mandated standards.

B.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
