AN ACT

 

Amending Title 20, chapter 2, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 20‑241; relating to insurance business transactions.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 20, chapter 2, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 20-241, to read:

START_STATUTE20-241.  Assignment of benefits; signatures; definition

A.  If an insured assigns the right to receive benefits to a health care provider for care provided to the insured, any direct payment from the health care insurer to the insured shall require a signature from both the insured and the health care provider in order for the insured to receive the payment.

B.  For the purposes of this section, "health care insurer" has the same meaning prescribed in section 20‑3101. END_STATUTE
