HOUSE BILL 2097

 

 

 

AN ACT

 

amending Title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-160; relating to school safety requirements.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-160, to read:

START_STATUTE15-160.  Child abuse hotline; posting

Each school that is operated by a school district and each charter school shall post in a clearly visible location in a public area of the school that is readily accessible to students a sign that measures at least eleven inches by seventeen inches, that is placed at students' eye level and that contains all of the following information in English and Spanish, and in any other language if requested by the parent or guardian of a student who is enrolled at that school, and in large print:

1.  In boldfaced type, the telephone number of a national child abuse hotline that provides support for children in crisis or who may be experiencing abuse or neglect.

2.  Instructions for calling 911 for emergencies.END_STATUTE
