Summary

Allowing Social Security to Electronically Screen for Suitability Act of 2011 or ASSESS Act - Amends titles II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) (OASDI), VIII (Special Benefits for Certain World War II Veterans), and XVI (Supplemental Security Income) (SSI) of the Social Security Act to subject representative payees to criminal background checks by the Attorney General and the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
