R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, John Goff has been awarded the 2023 Golden Deeds
  Award by the Exchange Club of Fort Worth; and
         WHEREAS, The top honor conferred by the organization, this
  accolade recognizes the individual deemed the most outstanding
  citizen of the year; and
         WHEREAS, John Goff is the chair and a cofounder of Crescent
  Real Estate Equities of Fort Worth, one of the premier real estate
  companies in North Texas; a visionary developer and bold investor,
  he has been involved in numerous major commercial projects,
  including the Crescent Fort Worth Hotel and Crescent Offices, set
  to open later in 2023 in the Cultural District; he also spearheaded
  the creation of the Klyde Warren Park, an acclaimed urban
  greenspace built over a depressed freeway in downtown Dallas; and
         WHEREAS, Crescent Real Estate has sought to make a positive
  difference in the communities where it operates; it launched a
  program to adopt schools serving at-risk students, and it created a
  scholarship program for non-officer members of the company; in
  2010, the Goff Family Foundation established the B Sharp Youth
  Music Program, which offers elementary students in the Fort Worth
  Independent School District intensive after-school music
  instruction, academic tutoring, and life skills training; and
         WHEREAS, During the pandemic, then-mayor Betsy Price asked
  Mr. Goff to assist local businesses as co-chair of the committee
  that became Fort Worth Now; he made a personal, $100,000 donation to
  the organization, which facilitated mask distribution, vaccine
  delivery, and financial assistance, and his example drew other
  benefactors; the group was also charged with making the city more
  resilient, which led him to conclude that it needed a Tier 1
  research university; working with city and business officials, as
  well as Texas A&M University Law School dean Bobby Ahdieh and
  A&M System chancellor John Sharp, Mr. Goff was instrumental in the
  university's commitment to build the $350 million Texas A&M-Fort
  Worth campus; appointed chair of the successor to Fort Worth Now,
  the Fort Worth-Tarrant County Innovation Partnership, he continues
  to share his time and expertise to promote the city's vibrancy and
  prosperity; and
         WHEREAS, John Goff has made contributions of lasting value to
  Fort Worth through his dedicated civic leadership, and he is indeed
  deserving of this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate John Goff on his receipt of the
  2023 Golden Deeds Award from the Exchange Club of Fort Worth and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Goff as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
