A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the authority of a physician to supervise or delegate
  the prescribing or ordering of a drug or device to a physician
  assistant or advanced practice registered nurse.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 157.0511, Occupations Code, is amended
  by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
         (d)  A physician may not supervise or delegate the
  prescribing or ordering of a drug or device under this subchapter to
  a physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse if the
  physician has, in the preceding two years, been subject to
  disciplinary action for a standard of care violation by the board or
  a medical licensing board of any other state.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
