Summary

As introduced, requires a law enforcement agency to assign a law enforcement officer to begin an investigation of a suspected homicide within the agency’s jurisdiction and, in determining which law enforcement officer will lead the investigation, requires the law enforcement agency to assign the investigation to an officer who will be available to investigate the offense for at least two days following the opening of an investigation. - Amends TCA Title 38; Title 39, Chapter 13, Part 2 and Title 40.
