| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to John M. Smith on the memorable occasion of his retirement as an agriculture and natural resources educator with The Ohio State University Extension, September 30, 2014; and |
| WHEREAS, As an educator and assistant professor at The Ohio State University Extension, John Smith has displayed a genuine dedication to attaining his myriad goals in a skillful and professional manner. Active with such professional organizations as the National Association of County Agricultural Agents and the National, Ohio, and Auglaize County Holstein, Auglaize Cattlemen's Ohio Extension Agents, and Purebred Dairy Cattle associations, he has striven to channel the natural energy and curiosity of students into meaningful inquiry, thereby helping them to gain a better understanding of the complex world around them; and |
| WHEREAS, Throughout his thirty-one-year career, John Smith has clearly shown the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society. Over the years, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and responsible Ohioan, and he is truly deserving of high praise; and |
| WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed efforts and deep commitment of diligent people like John Smith that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper. To his credit, he has supported countless students in their scholastic endeavors and has helped to nurture within them a desire for academic excellence, and we applaud him on his fine work; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate John M. Smith on his retirement and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further |
