A RESOLUTION
Recognizing The Ohio State University Student Motorsports Day at the Ohio Statehouse, April 17, 2014.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize April 17, 2014, as The Ohio State University Student Motorsports Day at the Ohio Statehouse; and

WHEREAS, The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research was created to study and develop innovative solutions that will positively impact transportation in the years to come. Its 35,000-square-foot facility includes modern office space, high-bay garages, fuel cell and energy storage and acoustic laboratories, and hemi-anechoic and engine combustion test chambers; and

WHEREAS, The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research houses five award-winning student motorsports teams. The Buckeye Current team designs and builds electric motorcycles to compete in the Isle of Man race, the Buckeye Bullet team is developing an electric powertrain to propel its vehicle faster than 400 miles per hour, and the Formula Buckeyes SAE team constructs open wheel race cars for Formula SAE competitions. In addition, the OSU Baja SAE team creates off-road vehicles for various collegiate competitions, and the OSU EcoCAR team was established to take part in the EcoCAR Challenge automotive engineering competition; and

WHEREAS, Education is vital to our nation's economic and social well-being, and as the need for global learning and understanding increases, so do the demands placed upon our system of education. Over the years, The Ohio State University has consistently and effectively met these demands, and as they take part in Student Motorsports Day at the Ohio Statehouse, those affiliated with the school's Center for Automotive Research can be justly proud of this fine institution; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize The Ohio State University Student Motorsports Day at the Ohio Statehouse, April 17, 2014; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research.

I, Vincent L. Keeran, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of Senate Resolution No. 309, adopted by the Ohio Senate, April 10, 2014.
