A RESOLUTION

Honoring Sarah Kanney on winning the 2014 Division III State Championship in girls cross country.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Sarah Kanney as the 2014 Division III State Champion in girls cross country; and

       WHEREAS,  Displaying exceptional ability, leadership, and dedication during the 2014 season, Sarah Kanney has certainly distinguished herself as one of the most talented runners in the State of Ohio. Previously winning a cross country state championship in 2012, she finished first with a time of 18:00.11 at this year's Division III State Meet to secure her second such title in three seasons; and 

       WHEREAS,  Throughout intense training and preparation, Sarah Kanney has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion. She has inspired her teammates, thrilled her fans, gained the respect of her opponents, and made her coaches and family very proud; and

       WHEREAS,  Sarah Kanney is, indeed, deserving of acknowledgement for the formidable athletic gifts and competitive spirit that she has so amply revealed throughout this past season as a standout for the Coldwater High School girls cross country team. Participation in sports has enabled her to learn much about commitment and self-discipline, and it is no surprise that she has won so many admirers; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor Sarah Kanney for exemplary achievement and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Sarah Kanney.
