| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the St. Charles Preparatory School boys water polo team as the 2014 State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, The St. Charles Preparatory School boys water polo team is to be commended, for throughout their triumphant season, the Cardinals epitomized the speed, agility, stamina, and skill that befit authentic champions. Their victories over a host of talented opponents underscore the athletic prowess and indomitable spirit of every member of the squad, and it is no surprise that their maturity and determination have earned them so many admirers; and |
| WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of Coach Geoff Gear, these gifted athletes have diligently applied themselves to the quest for excellence in the pool, devoting countless hours to rigorous training in order to ensure peak conditioning. Clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends, as the Cardinals brought home the State Championship with a 15-14 win over Mason High School; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the St. Charles Preparatory School boys water polo team have learned lessons of perseverance and hard work that will certainly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the St. Charles Preparatory School boys water polo team for outstanding achievement and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
