A RESOLUTION
Honoring Georgetown Fire and EMS on being named the 2014 Ohio Volunteer Fire Department of the Year.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Georgetown Fire and EMS on receiving the Volunteer Fire Department of the Year Award from the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Medical Services, September 17, 2014; and

       WHEREAS,  The members of Georgetown Fire and EMS are deserving of praise for their expertise and commitment, as well as for the invaluable contributions they have made to area safety. Their professional ethics, positive work attitude, and cooperation with the public have earned them the respect and esteem of the citizens they have so capably served, and we applaud them on their exemplary efforts; and 

       WHEREAS,  Under the leadership of Chief Joe Rockey, the members of Georgetown Fire and EMS have fulfilled their myriad responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence. Countless citizens in the community owe their safety, and some their very lives, to the volunteers who have displayed outstanding courage and initiative in the performance of their duties, as well as an unwavering dedication to excellence. Clearly, they have given of their time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected; and

       WHEREAS,  At a time when many people are content to take a passive role in life, these fine individuals have chosen to risk their own safety to ensure the well-being of others, and their enthusiasm and devotion to duty have ensured that Georgetown remains a friendly and pleasant place in which to live. We are certain that as they maintain their dedication to service, these volunteers will continue in the tradition of excellence that has long been the department's hallmark; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Georgetown Fire and EMS on being named the 2014 Ohio Volunteer Fire Department of the Year and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Georgetown Fire and EMS.
