A RESOLUTION

Honoring Morgan Rice as a 2014 Division III State Track and Field Champion.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Morgan Rice on winning the 2014 Division III State Championship in the 100-meter hurdles; and

       WHEREAS,  A senior at John F. Kennedy High School, Morgan Rice has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in track and field, and as a result, she won first place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.49 seconds and second place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.88 seconds at this year's Division III State Championship; and 

       WHEREAS,  Morgan Rice's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Morgan Rice on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Morgan Rice on her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Morgan Rice.
