A RESOLUTION

Honoring Jai'Lyn Mosley as the 2014 Division III State Champion in the discus and shot put.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Jai'Lyn Mosley on winning the 2014 Division III State Championship in the discus and shot put; and

       WHEREAS,  These accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for Jai'Lyn Mosley has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude. As this year's Division III State Champion in the discus with a top throw of 157 feet, 5 inches and the shot put with a toss of 42 feet, 11.75 inches, she has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and 

       WHEREAS,  In displaying such exceptional prowess as a senior member of the McDonald High School track and field team, Jai'Lyn Mosley has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her remarkable record of achievement; and

       WHEREAS,  The discus and shot put are events that require tremendous skill and natural ability, and Jai'Lyn Mosley is to be commended for her commitment to these demanding activities. In attaining her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Jai'Lyn Mosley for outstanding fulfillment and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jai'Lyn Mosley.
