BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
| Section 1. That section 5.2288 of the Revised Code be enacted | 5 |
| to read as follows: | 6 |
| Sec. 5.2288. The month of September shall be designated as | 7 |
| "School Bullying Prevention Awareness Month" to highlight the | 8 |
| policies prohibiting harassment, intimidation, or bullying adopted | 9 |
| by schools in the state and the required notice of those policies | 10 |
| sent to parents and guardians annually under section 3313.666 of | 11 |
| the Revised Code. | 12 |
| Section 2. This act shall be known as the "School Bullying | 13 |
| Prevention and Awareness Act." | 14 |
| Section 3. This act is hereby declared to be an emergency | 15 |
| measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public | 16 |
| peace, health, and safety. The reason for such necessity is to | 17 |
| recognize school bullying prevention awareness month in this | 18 |
| calendar year. Therefore, this act shall go into immediate effect. | 19 |
