         printed to be committed  to  the  Committee  on  Local  Government  --

       AN ACT in relation to extending the deadline by which an eligible  muni-
         cipality  may  exercise the provisions of the Superstorm Sandy assess-
         ment relief act
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding any provisions of chapter 424 of the laws
    2  of 2013 to the contrary, any school district within the town  of  Smith-
    3  town  may  exercise  the  provision  of  the Superstorm Sandy assessment
    4  relief act, within one year of this act being adopted into law, upon the
    5  passage of a resolution adopting  the  provisions  thereof.  Any  school
    6  district  within the town of Smithtown may provide assessment relief for
    7  real property impacted by Superstorm Sandy located within  the  district
    8  in  accordance  with paragraphs (i), (ii), (iii) and/or (iv) of subdivi-
    9  sion (a) of section four of the Superstorm Sandy assessment  relief  act
   10  only after passage of a resolution electing to do so.
   11    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
