       AN ACT to amend chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing
         certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other juris-
         dictions  to  practice in this state in connection with an event sanc-
         tioned by  New  York  Road  Runners,  in  relation  to  extending  the
         provisions thereof
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Chapter 192 of the laws of 2011,  relating  to  authorizing
    2  certain  health  care professionals licensed to practice in other juris-
    3  dictions to practice in this state in connection  with  an  event  sanc-
    4  tioned by New York Road Runners, as amended by chapter 29 of the laws of
    5  2013, is amended to read as follows:
    6    Section  1.  Notwithstanding  any  inconsistent  provision of law, any
    7  person who is licensed to practice as a physician,  physician's  assist-
    8  ant, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist, opto-
    9  metrist, nurse, nurse practitioner, certified athletic trainer or podia-
   10  trist  in  another  state  or territory, who is in good standing in such
   11  state or territory and who has been  appointed  by  the  New  York  Road
   12  Runners to provide professional services at an event in this state sanc-
   13  tioned  by  the  New  York  Road  Runners, may provide such professional
   14  services to athletes  and  team  personnel  registered  to  train  at  a
   15  location  in  this  state or registered to compete in an event conducted
   16  under the sanction of the New York Road Runners  in  the  state  without
   17  first being licensed pursuant to the provisions of title 8 of the educa-
   18  tion  law. Such services shall be provided only four days before through
   19  one day after each of the following events:
   20    a. the Staten Island half marathon scheduled to be  held  on  [October
   21  13, 2013] OCTOBER 12, 2014;
   22    b.  the [ING] New York city marathon scheduled to be held on [November
   23  3, 2013] NOVEMBER 2, 2014;
        EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets
                             [ ] is old law to be omitted.

    1    c. the Brooklyn half marathon scheduled to be held on [May  18,  2013]
    2  MAY 17, 2014;
    3    d. the Bronx [10 miler] HALF MARATHON scheduled to be held on [Septem-
    4  ber 29, 2013] SEPTEMBER 21, 2014; [and]
    5    e.  the  Queens  10k  scheduled to be held on [July 21, 2013] JUNE 22,
    6  2014; AND
    7    F. THE NEW YORK CITY HALF MARATHON SCHEDULED TO BE HELD ON  MARCH  16,
    8  2014.
    9    S  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be
   10  deemed repealed January 31, [2014] 2015.
   11    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and  shall  be  deemed  to
   12  have  been  in  full  force  and  effect  on and after January 31, 2014;
   13  provided that the amendments to section 1 of chapter 192 of the laws  of
   14  2011,  made  by section one of this act, shall not affect the expiration
   15  of such section and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
