SYNOPSIS

     Eliminates language in FY 2015 appropriation act that restricts participation of certain institutions in the Tuition Aid Grant program.

An Act amending "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 30, 2014 (P.L.2014, c.14).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    The language provisions in section 1 of P.L.2014, c.14 are amended as follows:

30 Educational, Cultural, and Intellectual Development

36 Higher Educational Services

GRANTS-IN-AID

 

[Notwithstanding the provisions of any law or regulation to the contrary, participation in the Tuition Aid Grant program hereinabove appropriated shall be limited to those institutions that had previously participated in the Tuition Aid Grant program, or had applied in writing to the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority to participate in the Tuition Aid Grant program prior to September 1, 2009 and met all eligibility requirements prior to September 1, 2009.]

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill amends the FY 2015 Appropriations Act to remove language restricting participation in the Tuition Aid Grant program to an institution that had previously participated in the program, or had applied in writing to the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority to participate in the program prior to September 1, 2009 and also met all eligibility requirements prior to that date.
