1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to transportation; appropriating money for a Safe Routes to School grant
1.3to Norwood-Young America for a pedestrian crossing over Highway 212.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.5    Section 1. NORWOOD-YOUNG AMERICA PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE.
1.6$2,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
1.7transportation for a Safe Routes to School grant under Minnesota Statutes, section 174.40,
1.8to the city of Norwood-Young America for acquisition of right-of-way and easements,
1.9and for design and construction of a pedestrian bridge and related public infrastructure,
1.10including a ramp, sidewalk, and connection to an existing city trail, to provide a safe
1.11crossing for school children and other pedestrians over marked Trunk Highway 212, at
1.12Morse Street, in the city of Norwood-Young America.
1.13Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.86, subdivision 4, or any other law
1.14to the contrary, this appropriation does not require a nonstate match. This appropriation
1.15is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes,
1.16section 16A.642.
