SENATE BILL No. 1113

 

 

October 22, 2014, Introduced by Senators ANANICH, JOHNSON and YOUNG and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled

 

"The code of criminal procedure,"

 

(MCL 760.1 to 777.69) by adding section 1n to chapter IX.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

CHAPTER IX

 

     Sec. 1n. In ordering costs under section 1m of this chapter,

 

the court shall not order the payment of costs that total more than

 

50% of the total fine that the defendant is ordered to pay.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No. 1115                                   

 

          of the 97th Legislature is enacted into law.
