A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled
"Revised judicature act of 1961,"
(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 151f.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 151f. (1) The state treasurer shall reimburse a court
funding unit for money paid by that court funding unit for a
judgeship that has remained vacant for a period of not less than 3
months. Reimbursement under this subsection shall be in an amount
equal to the amount that would have been paid by this state to the
court funding unit for the judgeship if the judgeship had been
filled not more than 3 months after the vacancy.
(2) Upon the elimination of a judgeship within a court funding
unit, the state treasurer shall reimburse the court funding unit
for the cost of visiting judges and additional support staff
resulting from the elimination of the judgeship.
(3) As used in this section, "court funding unit" means that
term as defined in section 151e.
