HOUSE BILL No. 4869

 

April 30, 2009, Introduced by Rep. Sheltrown and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

 

     A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled

 

"Revised judicature act of 1961,"

 

(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 5705.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 5705. A person acting as a property manager for a

 

landlord may do all of the following on behalf of the landlord with

 

respect to the property:

 

     (a) Sign any document that is required or allowed under this

 

chapter.

 

     (b) Prepare and sign pleadings or other court papers in a

 

summary proceeding under this chapter.

 

     (c) Appear in court in a summary proceeding under this

 

chapter.
