    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION exhibiting the State of Indiana's support for the nation of Israel.

    Whereas, The State of Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, is the greatest friend and ally of the United States in the Middle East;

    Whereas, Continued attacks on the people of Israel continue to undermine the possibility of a peaceful resolution of the conflict;

    Whereas , Attempts to deny the legitimacy of the sovereign state of Israel continue unabated in the United Nations and international media; and

    Whereas, The State of Indiana recognizes that Israel has a right of self-defense against attacks: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly expresses strong support and a steadfast commitment to the security, welfare, and survival of the Jewish State of Israel with secure borders, and recognizes its right to act in self-defense to protect its citizens against acts of terrorism.
    SECTION 2. That the Indiana General Assembly calls for an end to all attacks against Israel and for all nations to recognize Israel's right to exist.
    SECTION 3. That the Indiana General Assembly calls for the United Nations to work for true peace by ending its one-sided and

unjust blaming of Israel when it engages in lawful acts of self-defense.
    SECTION 4. That the Indiana General Assembly expresses its desire to encourage all Indiana lawmakers, both state and national, and all Indiana citizens to give their vigorous and enduring support for the nation of Israel.
