HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Vanessa
"VP" Palmer of Chicago, who passed away on September 16, 2014;
and
WHEREAS, Vanessa Palmer was born in Chicago on February 29,
1960 to Nathanial Palmer and Minnie Martin; she graduated from
the Roberto Clemente Community Academy and attended the Career
Academy to pursue her passion as a Healthcare Assistant; and
WHEREAS, Vanessa Palmer worked at the University of
Illinois at Chicago until 2012; and
WHEREAS, Vanessa Palmer enjoyed cooking and having her
family and her church family over for dinners; and
WHEREAS, Vanessa Palmer was preceded in death by her
parents; her brother, Clyde; and her aunt, "Momma" Mattie; and
WHEREAS, Vanessa Palmer is survived by her children,
Timothy "Bookie", Nakisha "Keachle", Bobby "Shug", Lena
"Cush", Darius "Duke", and LaTifah "Tmoney"; 13 grandchildren;
2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ronald (LaToya) and
Michael; her godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,

cousins, family, and friends; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we mourn the passing of Vanessa "VP" Palmer, and extend our
sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
and loved her; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Vanessa Palmer as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
