| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Hilltop Elementary School | ||||||
4 | in Elgin on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its | ||||||
5 | founding on August 27, 2014; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Hilltop Elementary School was formed in 2004; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, The community, staff, parents, and students were | ||||||
8 | all involved in choosing a name for the school and the mascot; | ||||||
9 | the name Hilltop was chosen to commemorate previous families in | ||||||
10 | the neighborhood and the hilltop farm owners;
a hawk was chosen | ||||||
11 | as the mascot due to the various hawks in the area; the hawk | ||||||
12 | mascot evolved into the current Holly Hawk mascot by 2010, a | ||||||
13 | more student friendly and kid friendly mascot; and

14 | WHEREAS, The current principal of Hilltop Elementary | ||||||
15 | School is Ariel Correa; he has been with the school for 4 | ||||||
16 | years, in which time the school has received several | ||||||
17 | recognitions such as Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics; | ||||||
18 | and

19 | WHEREAS, Hilltop Elementary School will hold a | ||||||
20 | back-to-school picnic celebration on August 22, 2014; | ||||||
21 | therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
2 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
3 | we congratulate Hilltop Elementary School on its 10th | ||||||
4 | anniversary and wish it many more years of success; and be it | ||||||
5 | further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to Hilltop Elementary School as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | esteem and respect.
