| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mike Pruitt, | ||||||
| 4 | co-owner of the Vine Restaurant in Grayslake, on being named | ||||||
| 5 | one of the 10 outstanding young people of the year by the | ||||||
| 6 | Illinois Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees); and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Recipients of the award, in the Illinois Jaycees' | ||||||
| 8 | 47th year, were judged on how they have exemplified themselves | ||||||
| 9 | in the following areas: personal improvement or | ||||||
| 10 | accomplishments; financial success and economic innovation; | ||||||
| 11 | social improvement to major contemporary problems; voluntary | ||||||
| 12 | service; cultural achievement; and influence in public | ||||||
| 13 | opinion; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Mike Pruitt is a 2001 graduate of Grayslake | ||||||
| 15 | Community High School; he was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, | ||||||
| 16 | and co-founded the Vine Martini & Wine Bar, one of the most | ||||||
| 17 | popular restaurants in Grayslake in 2006; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, The Vine, an award-winning restaurant, has become | ||||||
| 19 | a destination eatery helping to make Grayslake's downtown an | ||||||
| 20 | active night spot; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, He sits on the board of several nonprofit civic | ||||||

| 1 | organizations, including the Grayslake Exchange Club, of which | ||||||
| 2 | he is the incoming president this year; he is on the board of | ||||||
| 3 | the Grayslake Farmers Market; he is on the board of the Oasis | ||||||
| 4 | Youth Center; and he is a leading organizer of the popular | ||||||
| 5 | annual "Rib Throwdown" fundraising event for the Youth Center; | ||||||
| 6 | and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, He and other winners will be honored May 12 in | ||||||
| 8 | Springfield in conjunction with the Illinois Jaycees' spring | ||||||
| 9 | General Assembly meeting; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 11 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 12 | we congratulate Mike Pruitt on this honor and wish him | ||||||
| 13 | continued success for years to come; and be it further
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 15 | presented to Mike Pruitt as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
