HOUSE BILL NO. 259

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 7, VOLUME 78, LAWS OF DELAWARE RELATING TO PUBLIC EDUCATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1. Amend Section 7, Chapter 7, Volume 78, Laws of Delaware, by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:

Section 7. If this Act is not affirmatively reauthorized by the General Assembly by April 1, 2014, it shall expire and the language found in the Delaware Code prior to passage of this Act shall be reinstated.

SYNOPSIS

This bill removes the sunset provision from the public education unit count law adopted in the first session of the 146^th General Assembly.The provision, previously set to expire April 1, 2012, was extended two years by legislation in the second session of the 146^th General Assembly.Removing the provision allows the law to continue permanently beyond April 1, 2014.
