Summary
In light of the recent upheaval in the retail automobile industry in recent years, many states have revised their motor vehicle franchise bill to better regulate the relationship between automobile dealers and their manufacturers. This Bill updates Delaware law to provide automobile dealers with more certainty regarding compensation when a manufacturer terminates a dealer, to ensure dealers receive reasonable compensation from the manufacturer for completing warranty repairs, standardizes the distances allowed between dealerships in all three counties, places limits on how frequently a manufacturer may require a dealer to significantly modify their facilities and limits the manner in which a manufacturer may use and disseminate customer information received from a dealer.
