Summary

The requirement for 10 hours of instruction for hunting, license applicants born after January 1, 1967 has been in effect for years. This Act mandates that the hands-on live firing experience by a trained firearms instructor is to be a part of the approved course. Previously, the live firing experience requirement was optional . The requirement will improve hunter safety and is supported by many sportsmen and sportsmen groups as well as the Division of Fish and Wildlife.
